Publication Date Search Tips
- Enter dates in YYYYMMDD format (Year Month Day)
- Entering 00 in the DD (Day) position will find all issues associated with the specified month and year
- Entering 00 in the MM (Month) position will find all issues associated with the specified year. Note: You can also enter only four digits in the YYYY position to find all issues associated with the specified year.
Publication dates can be searched in Fielded Search or in Command Search.

When searching the publication date field in Fielded Search, you have two options:
1) Select an operator from the drop down list and enter a date in the box next to the selected operator
or
2) Specify a date range by entering a beginning date in the From box and an end date in the To box.

Command Search publication date searching
The following operators can be used with the date field (da) in command search.
gt for greater than ge for greater than or equal to lt for less than le for less than or equal to
- A search for all 1997 issues between February and May, 1997, would look like this: da ge 19970200 and le 19970531
- A search for all issues since February, 1997, would look like this:
da gt 19970200
- A search for all issues up to May, 1997 would look like this: da lt 19970500
- A search for all 1997 issues including the monthlies, would look like this:
da 1997
- A search for the May 31, 1997 issue would look like this:
da 19970531
- A search for all the May, 1997 issues would look like this:
da 19970500
