Pharmaceutical

Coverage

InSite Pro supports the pharmaceutical field by providing information covering many aspects of this industry. Some of the subjects included are biotechnology, drug approval, research and development, drug discovery, environmental regulations, generic drugs, health care reform, intellectual property, marketing and promotion, modern medicines, drug cost estimates, prices and profits and more.

The three databases that are commonly used to research these topics in greater depth are PROMT, Trade & Industry and Newsletter Database. Sample searches are provided to illustrate how these files complement each other.

Database Rationale

PROMT: As a leading source of industry and business publications, PROMT provides information on a multitude of products, processes and other topics related to drugs and pharmaceuticals. It is a major source for researchers who are searching for the latest news on emerging technologies, product testing, license agreements, manufacturing processes, environmental issues, legislative and regulatory actions in addition to business developments and market share data.

PROMT can also be used to research activities of known competitors, as well as some of the major players in the business, both domestically and internationally. Its content will enable you to monitor the new sales of medical breakthroughs like vaccines or drugs and the royalty arrangements or partnerships that are being forged as a result. You can monitor new drug applications and clinical trials and uncover related financial issues.

Trade & Industry is another leading multi-industry database covering international company, industry, product and market information. For the pharmaceutical, health and biotechnology industries, it offers strong complementary coverage to PROMT in financials, market applications, contracts, legislative matters, management, forecasts and industry trends.

Both PROMT and Trade & Industry contain the Company Intelligence database including company profiles for international private and public companies with links between company directory records and journal articles about a particular company or industry. Included among these are many biotechnology and pharmaceutical corporations.

Newsletter Database is an excellent choice for keeping current on industry expert opinion and analysis in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and health. With its complete, full text coverage of some of the most respected industry newsletters, you can monitor market conditions and R&D activities from an insider's perspective, research new drug developments, look up mergers & acquisitions or newly forged partnerships, or get the details of government regulations and funded programs.
